This page contains the current Artists Alley policies for Furry Migration. For your convenience, a PDF version of the Artists Alley Policies & Procedures is also available. For the main overview of the Artists Alley or to sign up, please return to the Artists Alley page.
The Artists Alley is a place for artists to sell and showcase artwork and items they have produced. Commercial goods sourced from other artists, craftsmen, or authors are not allowed for sale in this convention space. Large items that overflow the table space or may be disruptive to other artists will not be permitted.
Examples of allowed items include:
Examples of prohibited items include:
A limit of 6 produced items will be put in place, outside of commissions, for full weekend tables. A limit of 3 produced items will be put into place for day tables. Any questions regarding allowable items can be directed to artistalley@furrymigration.org.
The Artists Alley operates during the same hours as the Dealers Den.
Artists are encouraged to set up at their assigned spot up to one hour before the Artists Alley opens.
Material with a General or PG audience rating can be displayed at the artist’s discretion.
Adult artwork and any other art that is not appropriate for all audiences must be kept in a separate labeled binder and censored adequately using stickers, tape, or other materials. Explicit items that do not fit into a binder like large prints should be censored and/or remain hidden until purchase, or veiled by a bag or other appropriate means.
Artists are expected to enforce appropriate access to NSFW materials at their own table. Minors should be wearing a “Minor” badge for easy identification, but if someone appears to be underage, the artist must check ID before allowing access to or purchase of explicit materials.
Attendees are not allowed to bring food or drink into the Artists Alley. Please finish enjoying your food and refreshments before entering the Artists Alley. Attendees will be held accountable for any accidents or damages that occur as a result of violating this policy as the impacted artist sees fit.
Artists are permitted to have sealed drinks and food in containers at their table. Artists are expected to be discreet and courteous to their neighbors with the consumption of food or drink.
Space behind each table is limited, and therefore only one artist allowed per each allotted space. If a team of artists would like space in the Artists Alley, each artist will need to sign up and be accepted individually.
Artists are allowed to take commissions for completion outside of the convention. However, it is strongly recommended that both the artist and commissioner record contact information for each other party. The contract of sale will be between the artist and commissioner, and Furry Migration cannot provide means of mediation or enforcement.
Two types of artist tables are available: full weekend spots and daily table spots.
Artists can apply for a full weekend spot by registering in ConCat before May 30th, 2026. Artists selected for a full weekend spot may choose between a 2′ x 3′ half table for $60, or a 2′ x 6′ full table for $120.
Artists selected for a full weekend are guaranteed their table for the duration of the convention from Friday through Sunday, and are allowed to leave items at their table within the locked room overnight. Full weekend tables are expected to abide by the same Artists Alley Terms of Service as daily spots.
We will open spots for artists to be able to vend each day of the convention. As an added benefit, our guaranteed artist tables are allowed to leave items at their table within the locked room overnight. These tables will still abide by the rest of the Artists Alley Terms Of Service. Artists who do not pay for their slot after selection before the communicated date will forfeit their slot to the next person on the waitlist.
Daily table spots are assigned by lottery selection each day during the convention. Artists chosen in the lottery are given access to a 2′ x 3′ half table at a rate of $20 per day (Friday through Sunday).
Artists may apply to the daily lottery in person 1 hour prior to the opening of Artists Alley. Daily lottery results will be announced 30 minutes prior to opening. Payment for the table is due upon lottery selection before being seated.
During setup and seat lottery, artists must remain present and must pay any associated fees before setup in order to receive a spot. Proxies are not allowed to stand in during this setup period. Please allow for sufficient prep time in order to guarantee an on-time arrival. Failure for an artist to show up on-time at Artists Alley opening will result in the surrender of their spot to the next person on the waiting list.
Artists are expected to remain at their tables for most of the day. If you need to leave for an extended period, please contact the Artists Alley head table.
Minnesota State Sales tax forms (MN ST-19) must be filled out before the artist may be seated in the Artists Alley. This form will be collected by Artists Alley staff and are taken to Convention Operations for safekeeping. A Minnesota State ID Number is required to complete this form, which you can apply for on the MN e-Services site.
Artists are responsible for charging and recording Minnesota & Minneapolis Sales Tax on all sales (9.025% as of April 2026.)
Artists may have a friend (proxy) sit in and watch their goods or serve as a general helper to answer questions and allow artists to take food breaks, make phone calls, run for supplies, etc. However, proxies are not allowed to take commissions or sell an artist’s items or goods. The sole creator named on the Artists Alley Submission Form shall be the only person authorized to perform transactions at each table.
An artist is allowed to be on break for a maximum of 1 hour, after which time your table may be forfeited and made available for another artist on the waiting list. If more time or special ADA-related help is needed, contact Artists Alley staff as soon as possible and we will help where we can. If you need to attend a panel or leave the table without a proxy present, please notify Artists Alley staff so that a staffer may watch the table for you.
Applications not selected for the daily table lottery will be added to the waitlist for that day.
If an artist checks out 2 or more hours before the Artists Alley closing time, the next applicant on the waitlist will be contacted and offered their space. If this applicant cannot be contacted in person or by phone, or if the offer is declined, the next person on the waitlist will be contacted until the waiting list is exhausted. An artist has 5 minutes to respond to an offer from Artists Alley staff. Once the waitlist is empty, each table will be made available on a first-come first-served basis for the duration of that day.
Artists Alley staff and Furry Migration are not responsible for items purchased, refunds, completion, and/or communication between artists and commissioners. The convention is unable to get involved with transactions, and disputes between artists and commissions are to be handled privately.
Artists Alley is not responsible for personal items. Artists are responsible for securing their own items on the premises. Any found items will be moved to the Lost & Found located at Con Ops.
Furry Migration reserves the right to revise these rules without prior notice.
Furry Migration Code of Conduct must be followed in addition to these posted policies.
Furry Migration reserves the right to ask for the removal of items from display or purchase if the staff deems them inappropriate for sale in the Artists Alley.
Anyone (seat owner, proxy, or otherwise) making use of the Artists Alley space is responsible for their own behaviors on the premises. This includes but is not limited to adherence to local laws, adherence to these policies, or damage to hotel property.
