We have an update to Furry Migration AI Policy.
TL;DR: Furry Migration does not permit the use of generative AI to create creative works that are displayed, sold, distributed, submitted, or officially produced for, by or at the convention.\
Furry Migration recognizes that artificial intelligence has become an increasingly common part of creative and professional workflows. While AI can serve as a useful assistive tool, the convention also recognizes the concerns surrounding generative AI, including authorship, consent, and the impact on human creators.
To support and celebrate original creative works, Furry Migration prohibits the use of generative AI to create or substantially generate creative content that is displayed, sold, distributed, submitted, or officially produced for the convention or by vendors of the convention.
Generative AI refers to systems that create or substantially rewrite expressive content such as images, illustrations, text, music, audio, video, or other creative works based on user prompts or similar input.This includes, but is not limited to:
- Visual artwork and illustrations
- Written works, stories, poems, articles, or marketing copy
- Music, vocals, and sound effects
- Animation and video content
- Any creative work that incorporates AI-generated creative content
This policy is not intended to prohibit AI tools that perform non-creative or administrative functions. Examples include:
- Grammar and spelling correction
- Transcription and captioning
- Translation
- Programming assistance and debugging
- Data analysis, scheduling, organization, and similar productivity tasks
- AI may not be used to generate, rewrite, expand, illustrate, compose, or otherwise create the creative content itself.
The guiding principle is that AI may assist a creator’s workflow, but it may not replace the creator’s authorship of the work itself.\
Furry Migration reserves the right to determine whether a submitted or displayed work complies with this policy and may deny, remove, or reject content that is determined to violate these guidelines.
