We’re sure there are questions about hosting Furry Migration 2022 in a pandemic. The safety of our attendees and staff will always remain our first priority, and this year will see changes from pre-pandemic years.
Please read the information below regarding Covid-19 guidelines.
This page will be updated with the most up to date information publicly available.
Last update: August 26th, 2022
Short answer, yes. Attendees, volunteers and staff will need to have a Covid vaccination and 1 booster before attending Furry Migration.
We have elected to require either the original vaccination card plus one booster provided by the CDC, a report from a state sponsored organization showing the date(s) of vaccination plus one booster, OR a negative clinical test result for Covid-19, the sample for which must have been taken on or after September 7th to attend Furry Migration 2022. This decision has been not been made lightly and we hope all will respect this rule. Violators will not be tolerated.
What is required:
An original vaccination card provided by the CDC or a report from a state sponsored organization or a formal letter from a doctor that will show both doses of a 2-dose vaccine with the second dose being received on or before 08/26/2022 (2 weeks prior) or a 1-dose vaccine being received on or before the same date plus either 1 booster (most of the population) or 2 (individuals over 50 or who are immunocompromised) as recommended by the CDC.
Or
A valid COVID-19 test showing a negative result with your legal name, the sample for which must have been taken on or after September 7th. Home tests will not be accepted.
You can find testing sites in Minnesota at at the following link: MNDH Covid-19 Testing Location Search
Hotel Address: 1300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403
And
A photo ID that matches the name on the vaccination or negative test result.
Photos that clearly show the name and date of the shot(s) will also be accepted along with records from vaccination applications on mobile devices (Docket, MyChart etc…)
For any questions regarding this policy please reach out to us at chairperson@furrymigration.org
The Covid-19 vaccinations have been approved by the CDC for minors from the age of 6 months on up. If a child has a pre-existing condition that prevents them from getting vaccinated a negative test taken after September 7th will be accepted for entry. Minors must be vaccinated and have received a booster as recommended by the CDC. The Covid-19 vaccinations can be administered with other routine vaccinations.
Furry Migration 2022 will require everyone to properly wear a CDC approved facemask while in convention space. This includes staff, volunteers, attendees and fursuiters. Short periods to get a drink of water or to eat are permitted as long as you are unmasked for a brief period of time. Gaiters or bandanas are not considered adequate face coverings.
Fursuiters that do not have a balaclava or similar covering over their nose and mouth must wear a cloth mask under their fursuit head. When a fursuiter removes their head a mask must be properly worn when in convention space. This includes the Fursuit Lounge.
If you are caught without a mask in convention space your badge will be clipped and you will be provided a disposable mask. If you are caught again without a mask in convention space you will be removed from convention space and not allowed to return for the rest of the convention without the option for a refund.
If you have asthma or a related medical condition you can remove your mask if you have a medical episode. Once the episode is finished we ask you to wear the mask again. Feel free to reach out to a staffer or wandering host if you need assistance.
Those interested in performing in the dance competition will be receiving instructions during the preliminaries.
More details on proper masks and mask wearing can be found in the link below:

Let’s all mask up in 2022 so we can hopefully make 2023 normal!
For the safety of everyone, we would request if you are feeling ill before Furry Migration 2022 to please consider not attending for your safety and the safety of others. We want to limit the spread of Covid-19 and other illnesses to our attendees, staff and other communities both near and far.
For those who registered and become ill 5 days before the convention we can provide a refund for 2022. If you fall ill after the 5 day refund period we can roll your registration to 2023. If you do fall ill, please contact the registration department for refund procedures, and please get better soon!
If you fall ill at the convention we ask you to notify your roommates and isolate from others. Please be a good neighbor to those in your room and at the convention.
